VFW Auxiliary Awards Announced
Department awards for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary year 2024-2025 were recently announced and Fayette Memorial VFW Auxiliary 5254 La Grange which is in District 28 was a recipient of two awards in Division II: Third Place in Best Overall Promotion of the Texas VFW Auxiliary Scholarship Programs, and Third Place in Outstanding Overall Support of the Hospital Program. A certificate was also received stating VFW Auxiliary 5254 is a Healthy VFW Auxiliary. Pictured from left are Jr.
2025 Blinn Vocational Nursing Grads Post 100% First-Attempt Pass Rate on National Licensing Exam
The Blinn College District’s 2025 Vocational Nursing Program graduates have posted a 100% pass rate on a rigorous national licensing exam. Seventeen students who graduated in June from the face-to-face program and eight August graduates in the blended/ online program passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) on their first attempt.
County Students Advance in Fire Prevention Poster Contest
The Fayette County Firefighters Association recently judged fire poster contest finalists from all schools in Fayette County. They announced the winners on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The top three winners from each age division advanced to the regional contest, judged by representatives of the Guadalupe District of the Texas Firefighters and Fire Marshals Association. Fire Prevention Week was Oct. 5-11 with a focus this year on lithium ion batteries. The theme for this year’s fire poster contest was “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium Ion Batteries in your Home.”
