Master Gardener’s Lunch-N-Learn Series Continues with Forcing Blooms

The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Lunch-N-Learn educational program is a series of nine informational meetings designed to provide gardening or general landscaping for homeowners. Bring your lunch and learn about a variety of topics that help you have a more productive garden, prettier flower beds, or how to better understand your landscape ecosystems.

Best Little Longhorn Show is This Weekend at La Grange Fairgrounds

The Heart of Texas Longhorn Association will host The Best Little Longhorn Show in Texas Nov. 7-9 at The Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange. The show will be free to the public and food truck will be on site. Organizers say this will be a great opportunity for folks to see some really impressive longhorns.

ARTS Opens Entries for The Holiday Show

Every year in December, Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) presents The Holiday Show, a community art exhibition held at the Ross Gallery in Fayetteville. The exhibition celebrates local artists in the community and provides a special opportunity for creatives to showcase their work.
The deadline to enter the ARTS Holiday Show is Dec. 3.

Getting Quilts Show Ready

Colorado Valley Quilt Guild was busy learning the correct way to get their quilts “Show Ready” for our upcoming 2026 Best Little Quilt Show. Anita Todd, BLQS Show Chair for 2026, demonstrated to the group how to properly attach the sleeves which will serve as way to showcase each quilt when hung. Anita also demonstrated how to attach the quilt binding. Past President, Pat Scherer explained the importance of labeling each quilt when completed and how all quilts should be labeled even when not going into a show. Pat also demonstrated the correct way to label all your items for the Show. CVQG’s, The Best Little Quilt Show will be graced with all “Show Ready” Quilts.
