The Gallaporium, a new antiques and consignment store in Warda, held their grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 20. Owners Peggy and Bill Poole offer a range of hand made, unique, or unusual items. “We had hoped to one day operate our own antique store. Well, our ideas and plans changed some over the last 4 years. We wanted to create something more than just an antique store,” they said. Some of their craft and creative interests include photography, vintage items, pottery, crafts, leather work, and laser engraving.

Charity Quilt Workshop Held

Colorado Valley Quilt Guild held their annual Charity Quilt Workshop after it’s November meeting last week. Here sisters Donna Trusy and Sandy Courrier design a charity quilt. With only two days before Thanksgiving, the Guild Ladies worked diligently on cutting, piecing, ironing, trimming and finishing several Charity Quilts for our local Seniors in Nursing Facilities. New member, Grace Sim, drove in from Katy to join in the Workshop. CVQG is so thankful for our new Guild Members attending the Workshop.

St. Rose School Celebrates Christ the King

On Friday, Nov. 21, St. Rose of Lima Catholic School celebrated Christ the King Sunday with a procession. Prior to the procession, in their Religion classes, students created crowns depicting how Jesus is King in their lives. Pastor Jasper Liggio led the procession with the consecrated Host through the school campus, gym and into the Church for the concluding service. Be it known that Christ is the reason for our school. He is the unseen but ever-present teacher in classes, the model of its faculty and the inspiration of our students.
