Oldest Attendee at Stavinoha Family Christmas Reunion Sits in Santa’s Lap

On Saturday December 6, 2025, the Stavinoha Christmas party was celebrated with 90 attendees at the St. John the Baptist KJT Hall in Ammannsville. Research was done and revealed there are 328 descendants from Edmund and Betty Stavinoha who resided on Radhost School Rd. in Ammannsville. The main attraction of course was Santa and the oldest living daughter was Ceil Weyand who just celebrated her 90th Birthday. Weyand is shown here sitting on Santa’s lap.

One Last Letter to Santa

Karson Bigham’s letter was inadvertently left out of the Letters to Santa publication we included in the newspaper last week. He is in second grade at Schulenburg Elementary in Carrie Edmonds’ class. We feel confident Santa will see his letter here.

Festive Holiday Tradition Carries on in La Grange

A 145-year-old cherished traditional celebration is about to descend upon our community, an event that may be little noted among us but is fêted elsewhere around the world. In Cambridge, England, folks would queue overnight for entrance to the Cambridge Cathedral for admittance to the annual service known as Lessons and Carols. (Wisely, they’ve since adopted a ticketonly admittance policy.)
