Holiday Spirit Shines at Senior Connections Christmas Celebration

On Dec. 10, Senior Connections, a free, vibrant activity center for seniors aged 55 and up, hosted a heartwarming Christmas celebration at the KC Hall in Schulenburg. With members from its satellite locations in Weimar and Flatonia joining, the event attracted a lively crowd of 172 attendees eager to share food, fellowship, and festive fun.
The second, third and fourth grade student from St. Rose entertained us with music and laughter.

Can’t Beet ‘Em

Thirty LHS Students Make All-Region Band

This past Saturday, Dec. 13, nearly 50 members of the La Grange High School Mighty Leopard Band auditioned at Smithville HS for a spot in one the ATSSB Region 18/26 All-Region Bands. Of those, thirty students earned a seat, and four students were named as Alternates. “This was an outstanding showing by our students,” said band director Christopher Cooper. This year, The Compound Round Top is partnering with A Meeting of Styles, Inc. on a mission to provide regional, cultural, and educational enrichment that encourages, supports, and promotes visual arts and fine crafts with the inclusion of all artists and artisans from every group and demographic. The Compound Round Top welcomes everyone with an owner and festival director who both genuinely believe inclusion should always be present.
