Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, has announced the students achieving the Dean’s List designation for the 2025 fall semester, including Kobi Valchar of Schulenburg. To be eligible for the ASU Dean’s List, full-time undergraduate students must maintain a 3.25 or better grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry Show on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.

The Smith-McMillan Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, is celebrating America’s 250th birthday with events scheduled for Fayette County this Spring and Summer of 2026, the first focusing on the Marquis de Lafayette.
