On Saturday, Feb. 7 a 7-hour Multi-County Early Childhood Education Conference will be held at the Randolph Recreation Center in La Grange. Junk Gypsy sisters Amie and Jolie Sikes of Round Top have been named to Country Living magazine’s Country Design 100, a list honoring the people shaping the future of country style. The magazine describes the local duo, who they dubbed “The Rhinestone Cowgirls” like this: “This talented sister duo— who smartly staked a claim in the heart of Round Top with their Junk Gypsy headquarters before it exploded—has continued to carve out their own unique feathered-and-glittery niche in the country space.

The Texas State Straight Domino Championship will be held Sunday, January 18 in at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville. The event is Double Elimination Partner Play. Winners get Plaques and Bragging rights for one full year. The top five teams win prizes.
