Historic Sites in LG Seek New Volunteers

Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites in La Grange is seeking prospective volunteers to join their team in the new year. Volunteers are essential to the sites’ maintenance and operations, including guided tours, visitor orientation, weekend family programs, Spring Break activities, and Bluff SchuetzenFest, the site’s annual family heritage festival held each May.

Lamson Earns VFW Voice of Democracy Award

VFW Post 5254 of La Grange Commander Richard Gray presented Avery Lamson of Round Top Carmine High School her Citation and $200 Scholarship for winning Second-Place in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and its Auxiliary, Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Competition, the topic was “How are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country.” Attending the presentation were Round Top Carmine High School history teacher Brandi Venghaus, pictured on the left, and VFW Auxiliary 5254 Jr. Vice President Elizabeth Kallus, pictured on the right.

Equipping The Saints Regional Faith Event is Coming Up On February 7

2026 is the 42nd anniversary for the Annual Equipping the Saints (ETS), a regional event for a 12-county area, sponsored by the Bluebonnet Conference of ELCA Congregations. The all-day event is being hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church, 106 North DeLeon, Victoria on Saturday, Feb. 7. This year’s theme is “Christ, the Cross, and the Church.”
The 42nd anniversary for the Annual Equipping the Saints conference will be hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church in Victoria.
