VFW Post 5254 Honors Veterans With Special Celebration

VFW Auxiliary No. 5254 members from left, Trustee Phyllis Chavarria, Chaplain and Trustee Mary Gray, Secretary and Historian Becky Leer, Kathy Fischer, President Marilyn Kothmann, Conductor Laura Jones, Sr. Vice President Twila Thurman, Jr. Vice President Elizabeth Kallus, and Treasurer Anna Boyd.
Veterans were especially remembered at their VFW Post No. 5254 La Grange monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
There was a cake that had the wording “Thank you for your service Veterans,” the VFW Hall was decorated in Fall colors and a Thanksgiving theme, and a special meal was served.
Also, the VFW Auxiliary No. 5254 surprised President Marilyn Kothmann with flowers as a “thank you” for all she does in her leadership role; and they also sang “Happy Birthday” for her Nov. 24 birthday.
