Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Plans Old-Time Big Tent Revival
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is working hard to get everything ready for their upcoming old time big tent revival. Their idea is to have a big tent, wooden stage with gospel music filling the air all the while there will be a chuckwagon serving up hot coffee and biscuits with the Holy Spirit being over it all.
On the stage “Teddy Bear” Dwaune Williams, Jackie Cox and Christine Scott will be featured speaker/performers for the program. They have added a newcomer by the name of Calep Lewis to the program just for the revival. This will be a very musical revival. If you like Christian music, be sure and plan to attend on April 18.
Ladies Bible Study
Gretchen Andrew is gearing up to lead a Ladies’ Bible Study on the book of Esther at Flatonia Baptist Church beginning on March 26 through April 23. The ladies will be meeting at 9:30 a.m. on each Thursday morning and last till around 11:40 a.m. These sessions will be started with group discussions on the material followed by a video.
There are two options for the study materials: the first choice is an in-depth study. Precept upon precept which will be an in-depth guide with three to four hours of homework per week. The second choice of materials is an “in and out” book that covers the same material, just not as in depth and should only require one to two hours a week for the homework. You can pick which study is best for you.
The materials will cost $15 and Gretchen will be ordering them. If you are interested in joining in or just have questions please text Gretchen at (713) 515-2875.
Birthday Celebration
Dana and Darrell Kulak traveled to Magnolia to celebrate Dana’s mom, Virginia Tappe’s 85th birthday. They joined Dana’s sister April Pospisil, brother-in-law, Jack Field and niece Bethany Field to enjoy a wonderful meal with Virginia at Gringo’s in the Woodlands.
After the delicious meal they headed back to the Field home for birthday banana pudding instead of birthday cake. Missing out on the big celebration was Dana’s sister Beth, who had to work that day.
Traffic
Many of the ranchers in the area are out and about with tractors, feed trailers and other equipment. They are slow and sometimes have limited visibility out of the cab, so be aware and do not be in too big of a rush to get around them.
Just a reminder that the school buses are out and about weekday mornings and evenings and the kids are waiting along the roads. Slow down and watch out for them and stop for the flashing red lights.
Weather
The weather in Muldoon has finally started to settle back down after all the freezing temps recently. Hopefully the last round was the final freezing weather of the season.
The area remains very dry and many stock tanks are showing severe signs of the drought and are extremely low. The winter grasses are in short supply leaving those with cattle checking on them and having to feed more.
