Senior Meals Served Wednesdays in Carmine

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:3 0 a.m.
Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.

Round Top-Carmine Jr. High and varsity volleyball teams play at Waelder on Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. JV and varsity play at Fayetteville on Oct. 24 at 4 p.m.
The Jr. High district volleyball tournament is at RT-C on Oct. 25.
Qualifying athletes will participate in the Regional Cross-Countty meet on Oct. 20 and 21 at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
Red Ribbon Week will be Oct. 27-31.
Rebekah Group at MLLC
The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met on Oct. 9. The six members present were Joys Baird, Diana Wunderlich, Joann Ullrich, Leonita Sanders, Dianna Gerland, and Nancy Eilers.
The Bible study was led by Joys Baird with the theme, “Money, Stewardship, and Generosity; Session Two: Money, how do we tend our treasure?”
The business meeting was called to order by Vice-President Joann Ullrich.
Diana Wunderlich reported that quilting is Oct. 13. Leonita Sanders took sixty pounds of food to AMEN from the August ingathering.
All ladies are asked to bring a cake for the Harvest Festival on Oct. 19 at the Carmine Hall. The service begins at 9:30 a.m. Mia Williams will lead pumpkin crafts for the children. Krause Duo will provide the music to polka style tunes. Confirmation classes ending in the years 0 and 5 will be recognized.
Reformation service is on Oct. 26 at Lutherhill. The Bethlehem Lutheran Praise Team from Round Top will provide the music.
The Thankoffering service and turkey and dressing meal are on Nov. 9. Tickets will go on sale for the meal on Oct. 19. Price is $15. Ladies are asked to bring cookies to go along with the meal, which will be drive-thru only. Wade Weigelt with Sandtown Catering will cater the meal. The Rev. James Wilkins will be the guest speaker for the service.
The group decided to give $500 each to the following charitable organizations for Christmas gifts: Rainbow Room, AMEN Food Pantry, Deputy Santa Program of Fayette County, Hospice Brazos Valley, and Lutherhill Ministries. Motion passed.
The final packing for the 2025 shipment to Lutheran World Relief will be on Oct. 23 at 9 a.m. The boxes will be taken to Zionsville on Nov. 1. Two Hundred dollars will be sent to Lutheran World Relief and will ask for it to be given to the Hill Country flood relief fund.
Eilers gave the Offering Meditation about Heaven.
Happy Birthday was sung for Nancy Eilers.
The meeting adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer and the singing of the table prayer.

Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Reformation worship service with Holy Communion will be held at Lutherhill on Oct. 26 at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. John David Nedbalek leading the service. This is a combined service for MLLC, Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top, St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby, and Waldeck Lutheran Church.
Domino party is Monday in the Mission and Ministry Building beginning at 1 p.m. All are welcome.
