Senior Connections Kicks Off December Activities

Join Senior Connections, an activity center welcoming anyone aged 55 and up, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at all three locations: Schulenburg, Flatonia, and Weimar. Enjoy homecooked, nutritionally balanced meals served daily at 11:15 a.m.

Join on Monday, Dec. 1 in Schulenburg at 1111 Bohlmann Ave. in Wolters Park, next to the Boys and Girls Club. Start your day with dominoes and other games, followed by a delicious bowl of chili from Koopmann Catering, paired with cornbread, Fritos, a fresh garden salad, and desserts from the lovely Diana Chaffin.

We’re thrilled to have member Debbie Price share her story with members, followed by bingo with Elizabeth Fox from Freyburg Hall.

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, join in Weimar at 301 W. Saint Charles St. in Newman Hall of the Flatonia Methodist Church. Tai Chi begins at 9:45 for anyone wanting to join the flow. Enjoy shepherd’s pie made by Amanda Kreidel, along with our famous salad, fresh garlic bread, and desserts by Janice Collins, a lovely volunteer and baker.

Join for an engaging session with PA. Abby and clinic staff featuring a fun Jeopardy game. Bingo will follow up with Alyssa from First Texas Home Health.

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, members are back in Schulenburg for Turkey tetrazzini with mixed vegetables, delicious salad, garlic bread, and desserts brought by wonderful members. Join Bingo after lunch as Fayette Savings Bank calls the game.

On Friday, Dec. 5, Art Classes willl be held with Arts for Rural Texas, 1206 S. Lyons Ave. Join for a new month of art classes. Participants must register by calling (979) 743-3227, as space is limited. Susan Grooms will lead painting projects, while Stephanie Shroyer continues with mosaics and holiday ornament making. A light lunch will be served after class. Remember, you don’t need to be a member of Senior Connections to participate; you need to be 55 years or older.

Looking ahead, the Christmas Gathering will be held Dec. 10 at KC Hall in Schulenburg from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. with music by Super Dave Hollas after the meal by Jordan Ranch and Senior Connections volunteers at 11:15 a.m. Call the center to get your name on the guest list. (979) 743-3227.
