Senior Connections Has a Busy Week Ahead
Following a busy morning of games on Oct. 20 in Schulenburg, members will feast on king ranch chicken casserole prepared by Connie Koopmann Catering. Connie, who serves as mayor of Schulenburg and a valuable board member for Senior Connections, demonstrates her commitment to the community through her leadership and culinary contributions.
The Lunch and Learn program features Joni Krishke with Juice Plus, who will discuss healthy living and food choices. At 12:30 p.m. Amanda from Anytime Fitness will call the bingo game, building anticipation for who might win the coveted blackout prize.
The morning of Oct. 21 in Weimar begins with healthfocused care as a nurse from True Care Living quietly moves from member to member, conducting blood pressure checks without disturbing ongoing games. The menu features Amanda’s home-cooked shepherd’s pie with fresh vegetables, hearty salad, and garlic bread—a feast to remember. Members will again contribute desserts to share.
At noon, BJ Ribeiro from Mama Bear Massage in Weimar will present the Lunch and Learn program, educating members about massage’s therapeutic benefits. At 12:30 p.m., Sandy Anderson or another representative from True Care Living will take the microphone to call bingo.
Oct. 22 in Schulenburg promises to be a packed house as members gather for fried chicken and buttered potatoes from Oakridge Smokehouse. Volunteers will prepare a fresh salad while members bring desserts. Following lunch, the group transitions directly into bingo.
