Schulenburg Junior Livestock Show Set for Jan. 22-24
The board of directors of the Schulenburg Junior Livestock Show invites everyone to the 2026 Livestock Show which takes place Jan. 22-24.
Gates open at noon on Thursday, Jan. 22. All animals need to be in place by 3 p.m. Weigh-in takes place at 3:15 p.m. The broiler show starts at 5 p.m., followed by the rabbit show at 6 p.m.
On Friday, Jan. 23, gates open at 7 a.m. An exhibitor breakfast will be sponsored by the Schulenburg Young Farmers. The breeding show starts at 9 a.m. beginning with dairy cattle followed by heifers, breeding sheep, breeding goats, and breeding swine. The market show starts with sheep and goats at 1 p.m. followed by swine at 3 p.m. and steers at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, Jan. 24, a Pee-Wee and Ol’ Timer Showmanship competition will be held at 11 a.m. Breakfast will be provided by the Fayette 4-H Adult Leaders Association. A buyer social begins at 4:30 p.m. with fajitas sponsored by the Schulenburg Knights of Columbus. Exhibitor awards will be announced at 6 p.m. followed by the premium sale.
The sale is a premium sale with exhibitors retaining ownership of their animals. The buyer social and a new exhibitor salesmanship opportunity is available this year. The exhibitor salesmanship time will allow buyers to visit with exhibitors at their stalls.
Schulenburg FFA President Keeley Warnken and Schulenburg 4-H President Kylee Hoffmann invite the public to support their fellow club members at this year’s livestock show.
