Picket Progress at the Fayetteville Community Center

As Phase I construction of the Fayetteville Community Center & Performance Theater gets closer to completion, many of the details involved in rebuilding an historic structure are taking shape. The iconic pickets that adorned the exterior of the original E.J. Knesek Building can be seen being saved by workers (on the left), sanded and reinstalled on the façade (center), and being primed for final painting (on the right). The “Fayetteville Pickets” are a distinctive visual part of the town’s square, being displayed on other landmark buildings including the Red & White, the ARTS building, and Orsak’s Café.
