Martin Luther Lutheran Church In Carmine Hosting Blood Drive Sunday

A blood drive will be held on June 23 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. It is sponsored by MLLC and Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top.

Community Dance Night Come to a Community Dance Night on Friday, June 28 from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Carmine Dance Hall. Sound by Lathan will be playing all your dancehall favorites, alltime hits and jams of today. Families are welcomed and encouraged. There will be free admission.

The dance is brought to you by the Carmine Chamber of Commerce and Cedar Creek Schuetzen Verein (Carmine Hall Association.)

Carmine VFD 

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department meeting night is on June 27 at 7 p.m.

The Firemen’s Feast and Fundraiser will be held on July 21. Fried chicken plates will be served drive-thru only. A drawing will also be held.

Carmine 42 Club 

The Carmine 42 Club met on June 5 at JW’s Steakhouse. After enjoying a delicious meal, the competition began and continued through eight games of 42.

High scoring partners were Avalda Pohl and Carol Jenkins with a score of 1831 including three hands of 84. Partners with the second highest score were Donna Mueller and Edith Flinn with a score of 1773. They played one hand of 84. Carol Naegeli and Myrt Meinkowsky partnered to play three hands of 84. Jeanette Schoenst and Betty Porter played one hand of 84.

The group will play again on July 3.

Casino Night Magic! 

Carmine Chamber of Commerce will sponsor Casino Night Magic! on Saturday, August 10 at the Carmine Hall. It begins at 6 p.m. There will be a professional magic show by R.Verotti. A chicken-fried-steak meal will be served by Gary.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine ISD Administrative offices are open through Aug. 3 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Offices will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday July 3-7.

MLLC News 

There are a lot of things going on at Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Here is a list of upcoming activities.

AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion observing the Fifth Sunday of Pentecost is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Sunday worship with Holy communion is at 10 a.m.

The Blood Drive is from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

Meals on Wheels 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Recycling Trailer 

The recycling trailer is in Carmine on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall. Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic bottles and jugs. Please separate them. Numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics are not accepted. They do not take plastic bags. Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
