St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville recently donated $11,000 from its Annual Labor Day Feast to the Brenham Pregnancy Center, and St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger donated $6,500 to the same organization using proceeds from their Annual Bazaar. Both donations support the Pro-Life mission of the Brenham Pregnancy Center, which serves 10 counties through its Brenham and Bryan locations.

Fayetteville EDC 

Bob Kurtz, head of the Fayetteville Economic Development Corporation (FEDC), held an Alignment Workshop at the Fayetteville Community Center and Performance Theater on Monday, Oct 13.

“The City of Fayetteville, the FEDC and the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce are trying to promote business so it’s a good idea that we’re on the same page. The purpose is to share information, identify priorities and collaborate on ideas. We need to get a sense of what everyone is working on and open avenues to better communication,” stated Kurtz.

Mayor Mike Stroup, Bob Kurtz and Rice Lummis, executive director of the chamber, presented the objectives and accomplishments of their organizations.

The mayor outlined the focus and a few initiatives of the City of Fayetteville:

• Managing the financial health of Fayetteville

• Ad valorem taxes have decreased or remained the same for the past few years

• Maintaining full transparency in all endeavors

• Preserving the historical integrity of the town

• Addressing the destruction of private property caused by through truck traffic and enforcing violations at the stop sign on Bell Street The revised billboards created by the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce have been installed in two locations: the intersections of FM 955 and Hwy. 71, and Hwy. 71 and Hwy. 159.

St. John the Baptist Catholic 

St. John the Baptist Cath-olic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church 

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Fayetteville Brethren 

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

St. Paul Lutheran Church 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
