Lions Hear From REACH Leaders
Max Gerall, Founder, and Lewis May, Chairman of the Board, for the REACH project spoke recently at a La Grange Noon Lions Club December meeting. Lewis is a graduate of LSU, and has designed and planned large resorts, corporate headquarters, and even entire cities all over the world as a landscape architects and planner.
LSU honored Mr. May by naming him outstanding Alumnus, (based largely on his advocacy for urban underserved populations), and due to his teaching, writings and working with students, graduates, professionals and institutions around the globe in that cause. In fact it was with Lewis on a project in Canada for Bell Northern Research where he introduced Diana and Sam Wilson.
Max Gerall, a native of Houston, is a fighting Aggies class of 2018 member, and a social entrepreneur serving to transform lives lifting individuals and families out of multi-generational poverty. Over the last ten years, he has been recognized over 16 times for his leadership, philanthropy, community activism, and like Lions, his commitment to service.
Max founded REACH as a non-profit organization, committed to infusing core values of Respect, Education, Achievement, Community and Hope.
Since graduating in 2018, he has dedicated his “life’s purpose”, engaging the collective intellectual wealth, talent, and goodwill of the university to enhance the quality of life of the greater community. REACH equips students and families with the tools, skills, and opportunities to build stronger communities, advance educational outcomes, and cultivate future leaders.
