Legion Post No. 338, 4H Club Honor Retired Flags at Carmine ‘Night Out’

The October 2025 meeting of American Legion Quade-Werchan Post #338 was held on Thursday, Oct. 2, in conjunction with the Carmine Chamber of Commerce ‘Night Out’ at the Carmine Fire Station. The Post, with assistance from members of the local 4H Club, conducted a Flag Disposal Ceremony at the start of the event in accordance with procedures of the American Legion. The Chamber, and the 4H had collected 54 flags for disposal and prepared them for the ceremony.

Participating for the Post were Commander Lyn Reavis, Vice Commander Marvin Wessels, Financial Officer Frank Williams, Adjutant Bruce Bockhorn and post members Brick Peele and Eugene Goldsby. Students participating in the ceremony were Peter Kieke, Grant Kieke, and Bowen Williams. The presenter of the ceremonial flag was Caden Tovey.

The next regular meeting of the Post and Auxiliary at their facility will occur on Nov. 6, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Members of the post and auxiliary are encouraged to attend.
