Legendary Local Longhorn To Speak at UT Exes Event
The Fayette County Chapter of the Texas Exes are proud to welcomeArleas Upton Kea, President and Chair of the Texas Exes Board of Directors and 2020 Distinguished Alumna, as the featured speaker at a special luncheon on Saturday, March 7, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Round Top Rifle Hall (710 FM 1457, Round Top, TX).
A proud graduate of Schulenburg High School’s Class of 1975, Arleas earned her Bachelor of Arts with honors and her Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. Prior to her retirement, she served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, where she was instrumental in guiding the nation through major financial challenges, including the savings and loan crisis of the 1980s, the financial crisis of 2007, and the COVID 19 crisis on the financial industry. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for a Fortune 500 Financial Services Company. She also serves as an Adjunct Banking Law Professor at the University of Texas Law School.
The luncheon cost is $50 per person (Children 12 and under are free). A silent auction will also be held to raise scholarship funds for Fayette County high school students who plan to attend The University of Texas at Austin.
