La Grange Class of 1972 Holds High School Reunion

The La Grange High School Class of 1972 53rd High School Reunion was held on Saturday, March 22, at the VFW Hall in La Grange. Approximately 40 classmates attended. Total attendance was about 65. Starting off the morning was a continental breakfast hosted by our class president, Billy Miller. There was a “meet and greet” from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A silent auction began at 10 a.m. and ended at 3 p.m.

All proceeds from the silent auction to be used for future reunions. At 2 p.m. a dinner of barbecue beef brisket, sausage, and barbecue chicken with cole slaw, buttered potatoes, and green beans, and peach cobbler, with all of the trimmings served by Peter’s Bar-B-Que from Ellinger. The class voted to have the 55th Reunion in two years, at the Plum Church, on Saturday, September 18, 2027. 1970s Disco music was being provided throughout the day by our Reunion Organizer, Greg Johnson. Committee members include: Alan Jecmenek, Barbara Chovanec Eilert, Billy Miller, Dennis Collins, Donna Zapalac Mueller, Gary Prause, Greg Johnson, Patsy Cox Fretwell, Roger Brandt, Ron Boening, and Tom Gause. A special thank you to Honorary class members Sherry Gause and Jayne Jecmenek for decorating the hall and meeting the classmates as they entered the reunion. Everyone who came to the Reunion had a great time reminiscing about school days and what has happened in the last 53 years. We are all looking forward to the Big 55 in 2027.
