KJZT St. Anne’s Society Meets

The meeting of the KJZT St. Anne’s Society No. 10 was called to order at 1 p.m. on Aug. 19 at St John’s Hall. President Mary Jane Toddy opened the meeting with prayers for all living members and their families and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. There were 10 members present. Secretary Rose Rohde read the minutes from the previous meeting, Vice President Helen Wied reported cards sent and received, and Treasurer Lois Kaspar gave the treasurer’s report.

In new business, members were invited to attend the District III Meeting in Ellinger on Sept. 21. Members that will be receiving pins include: 50 year pins - Charlsie Idol, Carol Minarcik, Kathy Chovanec, and Shelly Cooney; and 75 year pin - Delores Ann Schmitt.

President Toddy asked members to check addresses and if there are any changes please let the main office know and also if members are interested in purchasing a KZJT polo shirt, let her know. Society No. 10 will donate $200 to Hill Country Flood Relief and it will be matched by the main office. The Society organization also purchased backpack cards that will be blessed by Father Steve and given to students in September. Members were reminded that Election of Officers and the auditing of the books by Veronica Ryza and Madeline Kovar will be held at the November meeting.

A moment of silence was held for recently deceased members Lillie Prihoda and Evelyn Krenek. Attendance prize winner was Roxane Hartley and the next meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 18. After the closing prayer, the meeting was adjourned, lunch and social followed.
