The Round Top American Legion Hall was the setting for the Hermann Sons Life Christmas party Sunday, Dec. 14. Activities started at 11 a.m. with refreshments and fellowship. Linda Mattocks announced the members receiving their 50-year pin: Charles Mueller Jr, Dan Polasek, Gwen Stork, Jason Wagner, Jason Stork, Julie Leopold, and Weldon Krause.

60-year pins went to Ronnie Jahnz, Barton Garlin, and Lila Garlin. Roger Wunderlich, Ray Ullrich, Kenneth Robinson, Brenda Mueller and Nina Marburger received 70-year pins.

Mary Rauch, treasurer, presented the report on the year’s activities. She presented Rodney Reed of Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Dept. with checks from the country store proceeds and $500 from the Grand Lodge. This was the best year ever with our donation being $2,030.

Kristi Bauer, representing CASA, informed the membership of their assistance to the children in foster care and thanked everyone for their continued support. Last year’s support was over $3,000. This year the table was full and the lodge presented Kristi with a check to help with items that might not have been donated.

Hamburger steaks, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, slaw, rolls, tea, and coffee was served for Christmas dinner. Members provided a variety of desserts.

The game “Rob your Neighbor” was enjoyed as each person checked out the present they needed to try to steal from their neighbor. Margie Stardig, Earl Fenske, and Jolene Mathis won the guessing games. The mystery gift was not identified so it will be the surprise door prize at the next meeting, Jan. 22, 2026.
