Herbrich Grows Monster Cantaloupe

Larry Herbrich of La Grange grew this monster cantaloupe in the backyard of his place across from Kort’s Korner. He picked it last week. It weighs in at a whopping 12 pounds, much larger than most of the others he’s grown. Herbrich said most of his cantaloupes grown to 3-3.5 pounds, while he’s had some get as big as eight pounds – but he’s never had one like this before. Photo by Daniel Wick
