Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with the nationally award-winning mariachi ensemble from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Market Hill will open for the Fall Show Monday, Sept. 29 at 9 a.m. Shop premium dealers in air conditioned comfort before the rest of the show opens. The Horseshoe, located across from Marburger Farm at 2105 S Hwy 237, opens at 9 a.m. on Oct. 2. Bader Ranch, located at 470 S. Washington Street in Round Top, opens Oct. 3.

Round Top Historical Society
The Breakfast Club at the Round Top Area Historical Society (RTAHS) is excited to host another Free Movie Premier on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. in the Jaehne Pavilion on the RTAHS campus. “Leave Her to Heaven,” is a stylish 1946 psychological thriller starring Gene Tierney, Cornel Wilde, Jeanne Crain, Vincent Price, and Chill Wills. The film, which was nominated for four Academy Awards and won for Best Cinematography, centers on Ellen Berent (Gene Tierney,) a demonically obsessive woman who becomes fixated on writer Richard Harland (Cornel Wilde), leading to a series of tragic events as she eliminates anyone who comes between them. A complimentary breakfast of quiche, fresh fruit, and yogurt, will be served ahead of the movie at 9 a.m., but advanced registration is required. The ladies of Ruth Circle met at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top on Thursday, Sept. 4. Jeanette Schoenst served brunch. Those attending were LaVerne Albers and her granddaughter, Kyra Albers; Joys Baird; Sherry Pennington; Kathy Schatte; Jeanette Schoenst; and Pearlie Wagner. Joys Baird lead the September bible study which was taken from the Fall issue of Gather Magazine: “Money... What do we treasure?” The lesson reminds us not to store up treasure on earth nor place great value on earthly material possessions. Instead, we are to set our hearts on truly valuable gifts from God such as faith, love, integrity, peace, wisdom, knowledge, honesty, service to others, mercy, grace, humility, mercy, generosity, relationships, family, neighbors, and so many others. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21) What you value most will receive most of your time and attention.
