FISD UIL Regional Congressional Debate winners and state alternates (led by Coach Amber Eilers) include: 1st Kylie Morgensen: 2nd - Tori Newton; 3rd - Valerie Vera; 4th - Paige Upchurch (state alternate); 5th - Ashley Camacho (state alternate). These Lions will participate in State Congress Jan. 7-8.

Afternoon Tea

Road Construction 

TxDOT paused construction a few days and returned on Wednesday to continue roadwork in and around the city center.

Election 

The estimated voter turnout in Fayetteville for the Nov. 4 Special Election totaled 328, exceeding the unofficial results for voter turnout for the county at 21.36%. Dr. Jeff Harvey commented on the recent win of Proposition A. “I’d like to thank everyone that made sure they promoted the referendum. We had a strong turnout of more than 40% of our voters and are very grateful for our local support.

“This outcome, which was important for me to achieve while in this position, is the long-term stability this district truly needs. This successful referendum provides immediate assistance to our teachers while ensuring the district’s sustainability for the near and foreseeable future.”

Residents are reminded by Chief Noviske that Fayette County is still under a burn ban due to extreme dry conditions. 

Christmas Tree Display 

The 7th Annual Fayetteville Christmas Tree Display & Contest in the Old Fire Station is on. To enter the contest, individuals, families and businesses can find applications on their Facebook page and at local stores and restaurants. Decorating kicks off on Wednesday, Nov. 12 and ends on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Triple C Bar & Grill 

The Southern Stars play traditional country and classic rock this Saturday night at 8 p.m. at Triple C Bar and Grill. Join in and come early for dinner. Mobile Food Pantry The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. this Saturday. Drive thru only. Backseats, trunks and truck beds need to be cleared out to make room for the bags and boxes of food. Volunteers are always appreciated.

St. Paul Lutheran Church St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

St. John the Baptist Catholic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Fayetteville News 

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 - 9:45 a.m.
