Fayetteville enjoyed a boujee visitor in the square last Thursday. A crew from Top Gear, a British television program, dropped into town to drive and review a custom Venom F5. The visit was arranged by Hennessey Performance, a Texas-based automotive builder based in Sealy, known for the Venom F5 hyper car or turning ordinary trucks and SUVs into fire-breathing vehicles.

“Today, we’re giving Top Gear a little taste of our hometown area, letting them drive the car, experience it, and get a taste of what Hennessey and our Texas roots are all about. We chose Fayetteville because we’re very familiar with this area. We love the roads; we love the people. The vibe of the town speaks to who Hennessey is. We also love the conversations we have with local townspeople,” stated Alec Wyman, vice-president of marketing for Hennessey Performance.

City of Fayetteville

To help preserve the beauty and safety of our courthouse and lawn, the City is asking that children please avoid riding bikes on the courthouse lawn and sidewalks. “We’ve noticed some recent damage to lights, sidewalks and even bathrooms and we appreciate your help in respecting these community spaces,” stated Mayor Stroup.

The old city-owned building next to the Red and White gallery was torn down due to safety concerns and because the cost to refurbish it was much more than it was worth.
