Fayette Electric Youth Tour Deadline Fast Approaching
Are you a Texas high school student looking for an unforgettable experience? Imagine traveling to Washington, D.C., exploring historic landmarks, meeting new friends, and even visiting with influential leaders like your U.S. representatives. If that sounds exciting, the Government-in-Action Youth Tour is for you!
Sponsored by Fayette Electric Cooperative and organized by Texas Electric Cooperatives, this all-expensespaid trip to the nation’s capital will take place June 14-21, 2026.
The deadline to apply for Fayette EC’s Youth Tour contest is Jan. 16, 2026. Submit your application by 5 p.m. at fayette.coop/youth-tour for your chance to win this incredible opportunity.
The Youth Tour is an action- packed week with 150 Texas students and chaperones. Highlights include: Arlington National Cemetery; Mount Vernon; Smithsonian museums and national memorials; a performance at the Kennedy Center; a Potomac River dinner cruise with dancing; meetings with elected officials; and Youth Day hosted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Eligibility requirements for the youth tour include: be a high school student (grades 10–12); be a dependent of a Fayette Electric Cooperative member with permanent residence in the co-op’s service area, or attend a school served by Fayette EC.
