Fayette County Retired Teachers Meet

The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association met on Jan. 12, at New Life Methodist Church in La Grange, with 22 members in attendance. Guest presenter Becka Yepes led the group in a seated workout and stretching routine to promote the importance of mobility and flexibility.

During the business portion of the meeting, members approved the October minutes and the treasurer’s report presented by Chris Morrison. Members also assembled “Goodie Baskets” for delivery to public schools in Fayetteville, Round Top-Carmine, Flatonia, La Grange, and Schulenburg to show appreciation for local educators and staff. Additionally, Joan Miertschin requested that all volunteer hours be submitted within the next week.

The member retention prize was awarded to Karen Fitch, and Rick West won the book raffle.
