This month is the Opry’s annual tribute to the late and great Hank Williams Sr. who would have turned 102 years old this month. Portraying Hank Williams the Opry is proud to have young Wyatt Aleman to sing and play songs by the late and great Hank Williams.

Wyatt Aleman is a 20 yearold from Harwood who loves to play the fiddle and the steel guitar. He started playing the fiddle when he was ten years old, and has now been playing the steel guitar just a little over three years. He loves playing traditional country music and western swing music. Two of Wyatt’s most influential Artists are Hank Williams, Sr. and Bob Wills.

Besides playing fiddle and steel guitar, he also taught himself to play upright bass, guitar, drums, keyboard and mandolin. If that isn’t enough for you, he also attempts to play his Grandmother’s Accordion. In 2024, he was inducted into The Cowtown Society of Western Music, as “Rising Artist of the Year.” He was also nominated as “Young Artist of the Year”, by the AWA, Academy of Western Artists, in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022. He won the title of “Young Artist of the Year” in 2018.

Wyatt has had the privilege to play at many different venues. A couple of them that he was very honored to play at were The Davis Theater and the Hank Williams Museum. Now he has been invited back to celebrate the 102nd Birthday Celebration of Hank Williams, on Sept. 13, to perform again, and open up for Jimmy Fortune. The City of Montgomery has also asked him to perform for the Riverbend Brew Fest and Jamboree downtown Montgomery, Alabama, on Sept. 12.

Another honor for Wyatt was that he got to perform a show along side of Herb Remington. Herb was the steel player for Bob Wills. Wyatt had dedicated the whole show to Herb. This past June, Wyatt premiered on the Penny Gilley Show on RFD-TV, and this December, Wyatt will Air on KDCG-TV and Radio Show in Louisiana, for a full hour show. It will also Air on KBON 101.1 FM “Swamp and Roll,” and can be see on YouTube as well. In-between his travels. Wyatt works very hard trying to get his music studio opened so he can teach music lessons.

Be sure to be with the Fayette County Country Music Club on Monday, Sept. 15 for the annual Tribute to the late and great Hank Williams Sr.
