Cowboy Church Hosts Men’s Breakfast
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church recently held a Men’s Breakfast and hosted Elder Greg Moore from Mc-Clennan County. It was a wonderful chance for the men to get to fellowship and enjoy a great meal of biscuits, gravy, bacon, eggs, potatoes, fresh guacamole and hot sauce. The men got a chance to connect and strengthen their connection with God and each other.
The SG2C meets every Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts along with visiting. Worship service begins at 10 a.m. They invite anyone who is looking for a church home to come and check them out. If you are struggling and looking for a place to feel welcome drop in any Sunday and get rejuvenated in God’s Word.
Out and About
Julia Speed was up recently to check on her place in Muldoon and to visit with family. She slipped over to Debra and John Schwartzenburg’s home for some family catch up time and make some family holiday plans.
Roberta Gullick recently drove to Dayton to attend a funeral service for a close cousin to her girls on their father’s side. Stephanie Marin Green played softball in high school and Little League and had attended school together throughout their years. There was standing room only for this sad goodbye to such a young family member.
Nancie and Billy Blair began their Christmas celebration off with having a house full of family. Granddaughter Valarie and Justin Simlpson and Cason Blaha, Candence Schick, Luke Simpson and Carson’s uncle Cooper Blaha all came out to enjoy some family Christmas time. They enjoyed lots of laughs and the great grandkids, Cason, Candence and Luke really enjoyed opening their presents.
Anniversary Trip
A recent trip to New Orleans provided a visit for Ron and Pam Knotts to a variety of sights visited 43 years ago on their honeymoon.
The first day they ate at The Gumbo Shop which Ron somehow remembered the exact location near the St. Louis Cathedral and found it on his own without benefit of a map. They also visited the Audubon Aquarium and a new feature called The Insectarium. Every exhibit was interesting and very well done.
Another major focus of the trip was a visit to the National World War ll Museum which has been much expanded in recent years. This museum is a valuable history resource for those who remember the events and also future generations. Each aspect of the war is presented in great detail with maps, displays, short films and story boards. Everything is easy to understand and the halls are full of displays of weapons, artillery and aircraft. One aspect that pulls you in is how you pass from room to room with the scene set to carry you through the feel of the action. It becomes very personal and you feel the enormity of the action and the human cost, military and civilian. There is also an amazing 4D film narrated by Tom Hanks that brings you right into the action. Ron and Pam spent two full days at the WWll museum and were completely absorbed. They highly recommend it for everyone.
Illness in Area
It seems that Muldoon still has a number of illnesses making the rounds. Be sure and check in on your elderly neighbors especially to make sure they are doing OK. Muldoon is a small community and we all need to pull together and take care of each other. Stopping or just calling to check on your neighbors does not take much time and may be just what they need during this holiday season.
Weather
Muldoon has seen a warm up prior to Christmas following some cooler weather. It does not look like there will be a white Christmas in Muldoon this year.
