Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is collecting items for women and children in honor of October being Domestic Violence month. Any items that may aid women and children as they seek safety can be dropped off and placed in the purple box in the kitchen of the church. This is a great way to give to a part of the community that is in need of help.

Sweet Tea and Scriptures invite area ladies to come out and join in a great Bible Study on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8 p.m. A new topic is discussed each week and some weeks even include a craft. This is a great way to get to know other Christian ladies and make some good area connections.

SG2C meets every Sunday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and goodies. Worship service begins at 10 a.m. Anyone and everyone is invited to come out and see what all is going on in downtown Muldoon.

Celebrates Birthday

Kathy Chlumsky celebrated her birthday in style with her daughter, Summer, and her family coming in to celebrate her birthday. Grandkids, Olivia and Marcus, each made her a chocolate and vanilla cake. The kids got to enjoy driving the side by side, feeding the donkeys and cows and even carved a couple pumpkins. It was a fun filled day and a wonderful way to celebrate Kathy’s birthday.

Attend Quilt Show

Nancie Blair led the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild sponsored bus to the Houston International Quilt Festival. James Ivy and I joined in the fun and hopped the bus in La Grange for the trip down to see some beautiful quilts and do just a little bit of shopping. It was a fun day for all the ladies and James too as he was the supervisor for the trip.

Grandson Joins Navy

Roberta Gullick enjoyed a surprise visit from her grandson Jeremy Young recently. Jeremy came to check on his mom Rebecca Young and to announce he was headed to Chicago and Navy boot camp. Roberta is a very proud grandma with her grandson choosing to serve his country in the military, especially since his beloved grandfather, Milton Gullick, had served so honorably in the military.

Out and About

Ron and Pam Knotts recently met an old friend for lunch at the South Side Market in Bastrop. Kim Simpson has hosted our dogs at her kennel, Best Friends Too for many years and we have become great friends. There are always great dog stories to tell since we also know each other’s dogs. This time there were tears to share as we each had recently lost a beloved pup and the stories were full of wonderful memories. Sharing those memories with a good friend was a comfort.

Devon Boehnke, Dana and Darrell Kulak celebrated their niece Charlotte Zuhn’s fourth birthday in Rosenberg. They were joined by more family: Virginia Tappe, Beth and Jack Field, Annie Zimmerhaunzel and son Luke, Lori and Michael Zuhn, and lots of friends. They all enjoyed the Bluey themed party with the cake being provided by Great Aunt Dana. Charlette is the daughter of Jenny and Aaron Zuhn.

Debra and John Scwartzenburg enjoyed a visit from Debra’s sister, Julia Speed and her granddaughters Juliana and Joycelyn Guerrerro. The girls enjoyed a picnic, feeding the fish, and trying to catch butterflies while in the country.

Museum

The Muldoon Museum will be open on Nov. 1 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for all to come and check out the great displays of items from the Muldoon area’s past. There are a wide variety of items from home goods to railroad stuff. It is a wonderful way to look back at the past and see how far the area has come.

There will be a special meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m. to start planning for Christmas in Muldoon. All are invited to attend and have a hand in planning this special time. It is always a fun time to get out and spread some holiday cheer. So come out and get in on the planning. It’s a great way to get the holiday cheer cranked up.
