National Night Out for Carmine will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. at the Carmine Fire Station. There will be free hot dogs and drinks, snow cones, and cotton candy, along with door prizes for adults.

TheAmerican Legion Post 338 and RT-C 4-H Club will sponsor a Flag Retirement ceremony. If you have not seen this, it is a moving and important event of the evening that everyone should experience. Fire trucks will be on display and dignitaries will speak.

The event is sponsored by the Carmine Chamber of Commerce, Carmine Lions Club, and the Carmine Volunteer Fire Department. Chamber of Commerce members are asked to provide a small door prize.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine Student Council officers and members have been elected for the 2025-2026 school year. Officers ae Georgia Bockman, president; Paige Burnett, vice-president; Angelica LeBouef, secretary; and Peter Kieke, treasurer. Members include Seth Kelley, Grant Kieke, Teague Weinert, and Juls Bellue.

The Cubette volleyball team visited the Pre-Kindergarten class recently to help them learn about the letter “C.” The girls and coaches spent time with the students and read a book together, making learning fun and memorable.

FFA meeting is on Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m.

Classes will not be held on Oct. 3. It is a professional development day for staff.

Round Top-Carmine varsity and JV volleyball teams host Providence Classical School on Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. Jr. High, JV, and varsity host Prairie Lea for the first district game on Oct. 7 with Jr. High playing at 4 p.m.

Jr. High Baseball team plays at Richards on Oct. 2 at 4:30.

High school and Jr. high girls’ and boys’ athletes will participate in the District Cross-Country meet on Oct. 9 in Fayetteville.

Harvest Festival 

The Martin Luther Lutheran Church annual Harvest Festival and Homecoming will be held on Oct. 19 at 9:30 a.m. at the Carmine Hall. Polka- style worship music will be led by the Krause Duo.

A meal of pork ribeye and sausage, potatoes, and green beans will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meal tickets are $15. Tickets for a drawing will also be sold. Tickets are available at the church office and Carmine State Bank. You may call the church office at (979) 278-3388 for more information.

Confirmation homecoming classes ending in 5 and 0 will be recognized at the beginning of the service.

RTC ISD Fall Festival 

The Round Top-Carmine ISD Fall Festival will be on Oct. 18 at the elementary school in Round Top. Dinner will be served from 4-6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Tickets should be ordered ahead by Oct. 9. There will be a few extras sold at the door.

Flame broiled burgers are $15; Chili-cheese hot dogs are $8; and a plain hot dog is $4. All meals include chips, tea, and dessert. The RTC Parents Club accepts Venmo.

There will be games for the students and those young at heart.

Sympathy Extended 

Sympathy is extended to the family of Jenell Jaster who passed away on Sept. 8. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sewing, making crafts, and quilting. She also was employed in Brenham and for the Austin ISD. She was very active both at Martin Luther Lutheran Church and at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pflugerville. Her funeral service was at MLLC on Sept. 16 with burial at Pflugerville.

MLLC News 

Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

Confirmation class meets Wednesday from 4:15-6:15 p.m.

AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship, with Holy Communion observing Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost, is at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Phil Fenton serving as the guest pastor.

Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Bingo in Ledbetter

Bingo in Ledbetter has been moved to a week later in October on the third Sunday, which is Oct. 19 from 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1:15.

Meals on Wheels 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.

Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.
