Carmine Christmas Fest for Slated Dec. 7
The Carmine Christmas Fest is on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The RT-C elementary musical begins at 1:30 p.m. Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus will be present. Kids can ride the polar express train.

Christmas Lighting Contest Decorate your homes and businesses this Christmas for the annual Christmas lighting contest, sponsored by the Carmine Chamber of Commerce. The date for judging will be announced later.
Anyone who would like to be judged is asked to have their lights on for those nights from dusk to 9:30 p.m.
RT-C School News
A Veterans Day program was held at the Round Top-Carmine High School on Nov. 10.
Many local veterans, along with the guest speaker, Mrs. Ann Heinstchel, retired Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy, were present. Veterans who attended represented the Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Navy.
The RT-C band played “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “The Army Goes Rolling Along,” “The Marine’s Hymn,” “The Air Force Song,” “Anchors Aweigh,” “Semper Paratus” (Coast Guard), “American Declaration,” and “A Nation’s Prayer.” Fourth and fifth graders sang “God Bless the USA” and Gretchen Sacks played “Taps.”
Each veteran was presented a pin and art work by elementary students.
The RT-C Cubette volleyball team’s season came to an end when it was defeated by McMullen County on Nov. 14 in in the first regional game in Athens. The team defeated Utopia at Seguin on Nov. 11. The Carmine and Round Top communities are very proud of the players and coaches.
JV and varsity boys play at Granger on Nov. 25 with the time to be announced. The teams host Austin Achieve on Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.
Jr. High girls and boys’ basketball teams host Fayetteville on Dec. 1 at 5 p.m.
Thanksgiving holidays are Nov. 24-28.
Looking ahead, the band is scheduled to perform its Christmas Concert on Monday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at Festival Hill in Round Top. Check the www.rtcisd.net website to check if there may be changes.
Ribbon Cutting
Memorial Oaks Chapel is having a grand opening for a satellite location on Dec. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. in Carmine at 107 Augsburg Avenue. It is located in the former Albers Butane and more recently the Basketball Museum building.
Ledbetter Lane of Lights
The first night to enjoy the Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights is on Nov. 28 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Enjoy a hayride, hot chocolate, wassail, popcorn, cookies, Santa, music, and much more.
Dates are Nov. 28 and 29; Dec. 5 and 6; Dec. 12 and 13; and Dec. 19 and 20.
Admission is $10 per person and children two years and younger are free. Cash or checks are accepted.

Christmas Craft Market
Dec. 7 is also the date for the Ledbetter community Christmas Craft Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ledbetter Hall. It is located one block off Hwy 290 at 301 West Labadie St.
Sympathy
Sympathy is extended to the family of Travis Schiwart, who passed away on Nov. 6. A graveside service was held at the Carmine Cemetery on Nov. 15. He was a former resident of Carmine.
MLLC Rebekah Group The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met on November 13. Nine members were present, including Dianna Gerland, Sedalia Ullrich, Leonita Sanders, Joys Baird, Diana Wunderlich, Joann Ullrich, Susan Ray, Nancy Eilers and Sharon Rhome.
A thank-you card was received from Pastor James R. Wilkins, Sr. from Post Oak Missionary Baptist Church, for inviting him to speak at the Thankoffering service.
Non-perishable food is being collected for AMEN during November. Thirty-four quilts were taken to Camp For All recently.
Gifts will be given to Nursing Home and Assisted Living residents Three hundred fifty-four turkey and dressing plates were served on Nov. 9.
MLLC is providing the paper goods, drinks, and desserts for the Advent meals in the Fellowship Hall. St. Paul of Shelby will provide the meal on Dec. 3; Bethlehem Lutheran of Round Top on Dec.10; and Waldeck Lutheran on Dec. 17. The Rev. John David Nedbalek will lead the services.
A 90th birthday celebration will be held for Pastor Willie Rotter at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Weimar on Nov. 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. with a brief worship and Holy Communion at 4:30 p.m.
Women of the ELCA yearbooks will be printed by a business this year.
November birthday celebrants were Avalda Pohl and Colette Wunderlich.
Sharon Rhome gave the Offering Meditation. Hostesses were Sedalia Ullrich and Diana Wunderlich.
The December 11 meeting begins at noon and will be held in the Fellowship Hall with a potluck meal.
MLLC News
Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
The church office will be closed on Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday.
AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Martin Luther Lutheran Church Sunday School Christmas program practice is Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
Worship service with Holy Communion, observing the First Sunday in Advent, is at 10 a.m. The Rev. Donna Wright will serve as the guest pastor.
The Chrismon Tree will be set up and decorated after worship on Sunday.
Domino part is Monday at 1 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
Recycle Trailer
The recycling trailers are at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m. (They will not be there on Thanksgiving Day.)
Clean milk cartons should be kept separate from the other No. 2 plastics. They also accept clean No. 1 plastic bottles and jugs. Note that numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.
Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
