Bugle Boy Marquee Gets A Makeover
The La Grange Noon Lions partnered with The Bugle Boy to make changing the weekly Marquee a lot safer. Heather Albright, Executive Director of The Bugle Boy, explained each week a staff member gets on a ladder to change the Marque. The uneven ground below presents a risk of the ladder toppling over. Albright mentioned the need to Diana Wilson at a recent Friday night show. Lions Sam Wilson and Michael Ahart went to work making a concrete form for a level ladder surface below the sign. Once ready, Lauren Concrete magnanimously donated the concrete and by the end of the day, a solution was in place. The Bugle Boy, aside from hosting great singer songwriters in a unique listening room environment, also provide end of life swan songs at area nursing homes for those in hospice, and work with Turtle Wing and children with special needs. It is great to see local nonprofits working with local businesses for the betterment of our community. The Lion’s Club is in its fifth year of their monthly service initiative called Serve 12. The initiative identifies a local service project each month out of the year. If you would like to inquire on a service project or know of a need, please contact the La Grange Noon Lions Club Service Chair, Lion Melissa Weltner.
