Annual Turkey & Dressing Meal Set for Nov. 9 at MLLC
Martin Luther Lutheran Church Women of the ELCA annual turkey and dressing with ham meal is on Sunday, Nov. 9. Sandtown Catering will prepare the meal. Drivethrough is from the Mission and Ministry Building from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

RT-C School News
FFA chapter meeting is on Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m.
Varsity boys’ basketball team plays at the Nordheim scrimmages on Nov. 8, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
On Oct. 23, students had the incredible opportunity to learn from the Texas A&M University racing teams. Members from the FSAE Internal Combustion, FSAE Electric Vehicle, and Solar Car teams shared engaging presentations about their engineering design processes, challenges, and innovations. Students also had the chance to view the impressive vehicles built by TAMU’s talented teams.
The Texas A&M students visited the RT-C Ag Shop, where they explored the progress of the high school students’ very own RTC Solar Car Team project. They offered valuable insights, encouragement, and advice to those aspiring engineers. A huge thank you to the Texas A&M teams for inspiring the next generation of innovators.
National Croc Day was observed on Oct. 23. Students celebrated in style by wearing colorful Crocs and delicious cupcakes. Thank you to Mrs. Bellue for bringing some extra fun and spirit to the school week.
Skye Bird Expanding
Skye Bird, located in the old Neese Pharmacy building at 111 Thigpen St, Carmine, TX 78932, opened its antique/ vintage store last year and is now expanding to include a coffee shop. Enjoy coffee, espresso, lattes, lemonade, tea, or Italian sodas while you browse its unique collection of antiques. Bingo in Ledbetter
Bingo in Ledbetter this month has been changed to the third Sunday, Nov. 16, with play from 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. A card for $5 covers all games with prizes awarded for each game.
Snacks and drinks will be available for a donation.
This is a non-profit community event for entertainment. Money collected is used for purchase of prizes and other expenses.
Central Texas Food Bank The Central Texas Food Bank truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 1011 a.m. It is located near the junction of FM 1291 and FM 2145.
Pick-up is drive-thru method with volunteers loading the pre-boxed food into each vehicle. Clients need to clean out the back seats, trunks, and truck beds to make room for the boxed food. It is for Fayette County residents.
9th Annual Turkey Trot The Round Top Lions Club invites the community to join in a Thanksgiving tradition at the 9th Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot run on Thursday, Nov. 27. This is a fun family event and a healthy way to start Thanksgiving Day. The Turkey Trot offers something for everyone with a 10k at 8 a.m., 5k at 8:15 a.m. and a Fun Run at 8:30 am.

Carmine Christmas Fest The 41st Annual Carmine Christmas Fest will be held on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Food will be served from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The RT-C elementary musical begins at 1:30 p.m.

Christmas Craft Market The Ledbetter Community Christmas Craft Market will be held on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m.3 p.m. at the Ledbetter Hall. It is located one block off Hwy 290 at 301 West Labadie St.

Sympathy Extended
Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Craig Cook, who passed away recently. A Celebration of Life was held on Oct. 31, since he was a fan of Halloween. His front yard has always been festively decorated for many holidays.

Martin Luther Lutheran Church Sunday School Christmas program practice is Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
Worship service with Holy Communion and the Women of the ELCA Thankoffering service, is at 10 a.m. Ladies will lead the service with the Rev. Ken Weiss serving as the guest pastor.
The turkey and dressing meal will be served from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.
Recycling Trailers
The recycling trailers are at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m.
Clean milk cartons should be kept separate from the other No. 2 plastics. They also accept clean No. 1 plastic bottles and jugs. Note that numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.
Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
