Animal Shelter Needs Volunteers

As of Oct. 3, the total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 1421: 579 dogs and 842 cats in need. There are 135 animals in care: 48 dogs and 87 cats.

The shelter is looking for more dog walkers, kitten cuddlers, laundry washers, and puppy bathers. You won’t regret volunteering.

The shelter is open 10 a.m .- 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday for all normal operations and closed to the public on Monday with staff on-site for animal care from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The shelter allows reclaims on Monday after 10 a.m. Call (979) 966-0021 to confirm and learn requirements.
