American Legion Auxiliary Elects Officers, Ella Nygren Shares Girls State Experience
Joining the American Legion Post 102 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 102 this month was Ella Nygren, shown in the middle. Ella is an incoming senior at La Grange High School and was selected by the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Coordinators, Phyllis Chavarria, left and Marliyn Kothmann, right to attend American Legion Auxiliary Texas Bluebonnet Girls State Program held at Texas Lutheran University June 15-21. This is an annual program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary purposefully to educate young women in the responsibilities of American citizenship. Ella shared her memorable experiences from Girls State at the combined American Legion meeting. Other young women from the La Grange area also attended and were sponsored by other organizations. At this year’s Girls State, over 600 young women attended.
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 102 installed their newly elected Officers for 2025-2026 during their July meeting. Each will begin their official duties in August.
