Birdie is a German Shepherd mix. She is 55 pounds and about 2 years old. She was brought to our shelter 16 weeks ago. We are baffled by her lengthy stay. She is people and dog friendly, although she likes human companionship best. She has a protective personality and would make a great dog for a single person. She does have a higher energy level so she would love to be active or have a big backyard to explore in. If Birdie sounds like the perfect dog for you, come meet her at the shelter. While you’re here you can look at the many kittens who are available for adoption.

• Visit the shelter at 240 Svoboda Lane and adopt animals on Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shelter is closed on Monday. The animal shelter will not accept surrendered animals on Saturdays.
