4th of July Celebration Cancelled in Muldoon
This year there will not be a 4th of July parade and picnic in the park. No one wanted to come out and help organize the celebration, so this fun community gathering has been cancelled. Please be safe while out and about over this holiday weekend and keep an eye out for your neighbors.
Wedding Celebration
Dana and Darrell Kulak went to midtown Houston for a wedding reception for the son of Dana’s best friend since first grade. Lisa and Scott Spring of Missouri City hosted a wedding celebration for their son and new daughter-in-law, Daniel and Kalliopi Spring who were married earlier in Colorado. Dana and Darrell were honored with leading the Grand March and were thrilled that everyone took part in the fun traditional dance. Then everyone enjoyed dancing the night away afterwards. Leading the Grand March is becoming a regular thing for the Kulaks. They have led the dance for a number of weddings and make it a really fun and festive affair.
Rain
The Muldoon area has been seeing some rain recently. The west side of Muldoon saw an inch and quarter of rain while the northern Muldoon area saw little to none on Wednesday evening. There have been several other little showers falling on a few days keeping the grass green and ponds with water.
Illness in Area
Summer is in full swing and so is the summer cold season. There is a large amount of people in the community that have or have had a summer cold. This season the cold is very tough. Many are taking a long time to recover and get back to normal. Please check in on your neighbors and make sure they are OK and do not need someone to pick up some medicine or groceries or maybe even a meal of soup or something.
Traffic
Traffic recently has changed. There does seem to be more big truck traffic coming through the area. Please be careful when out an about. The big trucks do not seem to slow down coming through Muldoon and cannot stop quickly, so give yourself lots of room when pulling out. There are some teen drivers out more during the summer and they are just learning. There are also tractors coming and going to the fields. These big machines are doing the best they can. Have patience as they move equipment around. Please be cautious of traffic as you are traveling in the area and take a few minutes to enjoy the green fields we are enjoying currently.
