16 Leps Advance to State Solo and Ensemble Contest

UIL Region Solo & Ensemble took place on Saturday, February 21st at Smithville High School. In this type of event, students perform a piece of music either as a soloist with piano accompaniment, or with a small ensemble where each member has their own unique part to contribute.

“La Grange High School had a strong showing, with all of the students sounding well prepared and performing well under pressure,” said band director Christopher Cooper. “Congratulations again to these outstanding student musicians.”

Sixteen of these students qualified to advance to the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in May. Congratulations to the following students on their performances: A Division 1C indicates “Certified to State” Class 1 Ensembles Division 1 performers were awarded a Gold Medal.
