La Grange Mayor Jan Dockery invites everyone to wear pink and meet at the library on Wednesday, Oct. 15, to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event will be from 5-6:30 p.m.

La Grange Mayor Jan Dockery knows first-hand the struggle of surviving breast cancer. She survived the dreadful disease after a diagnosis in 2022. Accordingly, she’s been a big supporter of women dealing with breast cancer along with their caretakers and loved ones.

That’s why she’s calling on everyone to “Paint the Town Pink” on Wednesday, Oct. 15 in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Dockery asks everyone in the community to wear pink and join together at the Fayette Public Library on Oct. 15 from 5 - 6:30 p.m.

“This October our community is coming together to honor the fighters, honor the survivors and remember those we’ve lost to breast cancer,” Dockery said.

The event at the library will be a time to share stories, recognize survivors and their caregivers, and to remember the loved ones lost.

“Let’s turn our town pink and make a visible difference,” Dockery said. “Together we can raise awareness and hope.”
