Fayetteville High, St. John’s Reunion Set Sept. 20
The annual reunion for Fayetteville High School and St. John’s School graduates will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Joe’s Place and is hosted by the class of 1975. It will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a social gathering, meeting and meal.
The meal is $18 per person and payment is due no later than Sept 10. Choose between chicken fried steak and grilled chicken breast. Both come with potatoes, green beans, salad and tea.

St. John Feast Sunday
Remember that St. John Catholic Church will be holding their Annual Labor Day Weekend Feast this Sunday, Aug. 31. Be sure and join in the silent and live auctions. The country auction begins at 1:30 p.m. and barbeque sandwiches, sausage wraps and nachos are available all afternoon also at 1:30 p.m. Bingo kick off at 2 p.m.
The feast is known as a homecoming for many graduates and former residents of Fayetteville. Father Steve Sauser, pastor, and the parishioners of the St. John parish, invite the public to come out for the best meal, the finest entertainment, and the most fun around. This year, a portion of the parish feast funds will be donated to Hospice Brazos Valley.
City of Fayetteville
Offices for the City of Fayetteville, the post office and the Fayetteville Bank will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

New Restaurant
Several Fayetteville residents turned out to enjoy the Open House held at Thai Express in Ellinger last Saturday night.
St. John/Mary VBS
St. John and St. Mary Catholic Church held their VBS (Vacation Bible School) July 21-25. Seventy children participated. This year’s VBS Children raised a total of $988.50 for Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville to support the flood victims.
St. Paul Lutheran
St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.
St. John the Baptist Catholic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.
St. Mary Catholic Church St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.
Fayetteville Brethren
Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
