Lady Leps Win Six Straight to Claim Home Tourney Title

So far, so good. Actually, make that so far, so great. The La Grange softball team has started the season more than
living up to their No. 1 preseason state ranking. After going 5-1 to tie for the title at the season-opening Brenham Tournament, the Lady Leps followed that up with six consecutive victories to win the championship of their home tournament Saturday.

Basketball Season Ends in Fayette County

LULING – All season long, the La Grange boys basketball team was so good at out-running other teams and pressuring  foes into mistakes with relentless defense. Friday, the Leps ran into a team even better at that gameplan than they were.
In the aftermath of La Grange’s 82-63 loss to San AntonioSam Houston in the second  round of the 3A playoffs, Lep junior Dillon Lee maybe described it best

Postseason Power

ALTAIR – None of the current La Grange basketball players had even started kindergarten the last time the Leopard boys won a hoops playoff game. But in a dominating performance Tuesday, the Leps shattered what had been a 14-year playoff victory drought with a 63-41 dismantling of Needville

Bastrop High Sweeps La Grange in Soccer Doubleheader

Although the La Grange boys Soccer team put up a good fight against Bastrop, they were defeated 7-3 Tuesday at Leopard Stadium. “Tonight’s game is probably the best one we played all year,” head coach Westley Miller, said. “Despite the
score, defense played pretty solid tonight.”

Leps Looking to Win First Boys Basketball Playoff in 14 Years

The La Grange boys basketball team has not won a playoff basketball game since the year 2000. This current group of Leps (18-11) will try to snap that 14-year drought Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Rice Consolidated High School against Needville
in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs

Lady Leps Start Softball Season in Dominating Fashion at Brenham Tourney

It was quite the start to the season for the La Grange softball team, which went 5-1 in their season-opening tournament Thursday through Saturday in Brenham. The La Grange baseball team officially begins its defense of last year’s state title Tuesday as the Leps open up the regular at home at 7 p.m. against Weimar. And these Leps begin the 2014 season with a lot of new faces on the field – and in the
dugout. New head coach Michael McCollum takes over for former head coach Brad Harbers, who moved into school administration after the Leps magical run to the state title last year

SMITHVILLE – Rarely does a game actually match up to the hype, but the district title battle-royale between the La Grange and Smithville boys basketball teams Tuesday had every drop of drama a hoops fan could have hoped for.
