District Champs – Again!

Missy Zoch threw her second consecutive no-hitter and the Lady Lep bats cranked out 14 hits as the La Grange softball
team clinched its fourth consecutive district title in a 17-0 win over Gonzales at home Tuesday. It was the Lady Leps’ 28th
consecutive victory.

Zoch Throws No-Hitter in Softball; Baseball Team All Alone in First After 2-1 Win

What a night it was Friday in Cuero for the La Grange High School baseball and softball teams. In softball, pitcher Missy
Zoch hurled a no-hitter as the Lady Leps pounded Cuero 19-0 for the La Grange girls 27th consecutive victory.

Thrown Together

You’ve heard of dis-functional families. Well, the Gillards of La Grange are a discus-functional family. Most afternoons,  familybonding for this group takes place at the discus-throwing area at La Grange High School. Senior Blair Gillard and her
brother, sophomore Brennen Gillard, are star discus throwers Leps – and together have racked up Top 3 finishes in almost every meet this season.

Schmidt Celebrates 30 Years of Coaching at LG

Through six different athletic directors and thousands of athletes, there’s been one constant with La Grange athletics over the last three decades –Wayne Schmidt. This year Schmidt is celebrating his amazing 30th year coaching at LGISD (25 as a baseball coach), a career that includes three state titles as an assistant with the Lep baseball team (to go along with the two state baseball titles he won as a player at Brenham High School before going on to play collegiate baseball at Stephen. F. Austin State University).

Lady Leps Slide to 26th Straight Victory

The La Grange softball team proved what a gap there is between the first and second place teams in District 26-3A as the Lady Leps dominated Yoakum 10-0 Saturday afternoon. This brings La Grange’s win-streak to 26 in a row, and improves their district record to 6-0. This game was originally scheduled for Friday night, but was rescheduled due to the rainy weather.

Leps Rally from Slow Start to Beat Yoakum

Eight of the nine La Grange batters got hits, and Adam Robinson shook off some early pitching problems to hurl a gem 
as the Leps downed Yoakum 9-3 Saturday to stay perfect in district play. In a game that was postponed a day because of rain, the La Grange boys rallied from a 3-0 first inning deficit to score nine unanswered runs, highlighted by Rylan Rigden’s firstever high school home run in the fifth inning.

The La Grange baseball team stayed undefeated in district with a 3-0 win over Giddings Tuesday. “It was just a total team
win,” said Leps head coach Michael McCollum, whose team improves to 13-4 with the victory. “Trey (Supak) did a nice job
on the mound for us and we did a good job of executing our plan and putting the ball in play

Lady Leps Pull Off Dramatic Comeback

With La Grange’s 35-game district softball win-streak (which dates back to 2010) in jeopardy Tuesday, it was a couple 
of seniors that saved the day. With the Lady Leps down 3-0 going into the sixth inning, senior Abby Morgan came off the bench to pitch two scoreless innings. Then fellow senior Alyssa Angel sparked a threerun sixth inning rally before launching a walk-off solo homer in the seventh to win the game 4-3.
