Emma Leppard was recently nominated by Round Top-Carmine High School principal Brandon Schovajsa to be acknowledged by KBTX Classroom Champions. Emma was selected by KBTX to be the Classroom Champion for the week of October 1st.

Tuesday night’s volleyball match started with something new that La Grange coach Rhonda Bloodworth hopes can become a tradition. Each Lady Leps varsity player chose a special teacher they wanted to honor, invited them to the game, and then presented them with a little gift on the court before the start of the match.

The Fayette County Panthers six-man football game last week was cancelled and cannot be made up this year. The Panthers next opponent is Mount Carmel at their field in Houston this Friday night at 7:00 p.m.

The La Grange volleyball team was off Friday and the lady Leps return to action Tuesday at home in a district match against Giddings at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, the other four Fayette County volleyball teams all won their matches Friday.

FREDERICKSBURG – La Grange saw its 23-game regular season winning streak snapped by a Fredericksburg team led by a little quarterback with big-play ability. Kyle Reeh threw for three touchdowns, ran for two more, passed for 301 yards and rushed for 64. It was all too much for La Grange Friday as the Battlin’ Billies of Fredericksburg rallied from an early deficit, dominated in the fourth quarter and beat La Grange 41-22.

The La Grange volleyball team has had a lot of success this season so far, but the Lady Leps had a tough district opener at Caldwell Tuesday, falling to the Lady Hornets 28-26, 25-19, 25-20. The loss drops La Grange’s overall record to 27-6 and 0-1 in district. The Lady Leps next host Giddings Tuesday at 7 p.m.

After their first three football games this season the La Grange Leopards had answered every challenge placed in their way. But before Friday the Leps had yet to play a team that really liked to throw the football. The Leps were more than up for that challenge too.

Columbus was taller, but it was the Lady Laps who stood tall at the end. Friday, against a Columbus team with two towering Division- I college signees, the Lady Leps bounced back from a first set loss to beat the Lady Cardinals 18-25, 25-18, 25-20, 27-25.
