Diamond Roundup: Lady Leps Clinch District, Big Rally for FHS

The La Grange softball team clinched its fifth consecutive district title and improved to 25-0 this season with a 19-0 victory
at Smithville Tuesday. The Lady Leps slugged a whopping 10 extra base hits in this game, including a homer by Hatti Moore, three doubles by Kristy Bertsch and two doubles each by Briana Angel and Hannah Gerecke.

After playing everyone in District 21-4A once so far, some things have become clear for the La Grange baseball team. 1. It’s going to be an uphill battle to make it back to the playoffs for La Grange. 2. This young Leopards team’s got plenty of fight in

Undefeated Lady Leps Keep Rolling

The La Grange softball team improved to 24-0 overall and 7-0 in district with a dominating 12-0 victory at Giddings Friday.
Shelby Dixon smacked a home run and Missy Zoch pitched a complete game shutout.

This was a big week for the La Grange high school golf teams as both varsity teams and both junior varsity teams brought home team medals from the District 21-4A tournament held Monday and Tuesday at Pecan Lakes in Navasota

The Schulenburg Lady Horns Golf Team will advance to the Regional Golf tournament after finishing second at the district meet. Team members are Halie Lewis, Hannah Lewis, Juls Machac, Hailey Machac, Skylar Hinson, and alternate Ryle

Zoch Pitches Perfect Game As Lady Leps Crush Bellville

La Grange pitcher Missy Zoch hurled a perfect game Thursday, allowing no hits and striking out 13 of the 15 batters she faced as the Lady Leps softball team went on the road and crushed Bellville 14-0.

Tough Thursday For Most County Teams

The La Grange baseball team lost 2-0 at Bellville Thursday, which drops the Leopards overall record to 7-7 and their district mark to 1-2. La Grange only managed four hits the game (those coming from Carson Svrcek, Jake Dixon, Corey Golan and Cole Garlin). The Leps return to district action at Caldwell Tuesday before hosting Giddings Friday at 7 p.m.

A Good Friday for Fishing, But Maybe Not Catching

It was a busy Good Friday morning at the boat ramp in La Grange last week. Four boat trailers were parked under the old iron bridge at 10 a.m. Two more boats slipped into the water before an hour went by. Several families fished off the shore.
Local resident Tremont Scott and his three sons, Mark, Bradon and Thai, spent the morning getting their lines wet. “I’m just trying to get these kids out of the house and away from the video games for a while,” Scott said as he baited a hook.

Beyer Signs to Play for Eastfield College

Lauren Beyer, a senior at Schulenburg High School, signed a commitment letter to play volleyball at Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas on Monday, March 30.
