Leps Win Four in a Row to Win Yoakum Tourney Title

After starting the season 0-2, the defending state champion La Grange baseball team has bounced back in a big way. The Leps won four straight games to win the Yoakum Tournament title over the weekend. Dalton Burton, Rustin Heger and Adam Robinson earned all-tournament honors for the Leps, and La Grange also won the tournament’s “Team Hustle” award as voted on by the coaches and umps at the event.

Lady Leps Sweep Six Games to Claim A&M Consolidated Tourney Title

It’s now an 18-game win streak for the No. 1-ranked La Grange softball team as the Lady Leps swept through the  competition in six games over the weekend to win the A&M Consolidated Tournament. The Lady Leps (18-1) won four games easily, but also had to win a pair of one-run games against Little Cypress-Mauriceville and Azle to claim the title

Schulenburg Boys and Girls Also Win Tournament Titles Saturday

The Schulenburg boys baseball team won the championship of the Hallettsville Sacred Heart Tournament over the weekend, while the Schulenburg softball team won their bracket at their home tournament with a 3-1 victory over Fairfield Saturday.

Lady Leps Win 12th Consecutive Game

Mother Nature has been the only force lately that has stopped the Lady Leps softball team. A rainstorm forced umpires
to call the early ending of Tuesday’s game after just five and a half innings, but by then La Grange had already made the outcome clear, beating 5A Pflugerville Hendrickson 9-1.

Schulenburg Baseball

The Schulenburg baseball team went 1-2 at the Columbus tournament last weekend, losing to Austin St. Michael’s 3-1 and Victoria West 17-15 before beating Boling 6-2 on Saturday. Above, catcher Wesley Kutac tags out a Boling runner

La Grange’s varsity girls doubles tennis team of Alyssa Wich, left, and Kassidy Hakemack placed second at the Bastrop tournament last week. Also at that tournament, Avery Behrens lost in the consolation finals of boys’ singles.
