Leps Improve to 12-0 With 61-24 Win Over Ingleside

on their first two drives of the game to match the Leps touchdown for touchdown. But eventually the Leps defense
started stopping Ingleside. But that’s not something the Mustang defense was ever able to do against La Grange. The
Leps didn’t punt at all Friday, scoring touchdowns on nine of their 11 possessions -- stopped only by the halftime
clock, and a second half fumble. “It all comes down to stopping the run, it doesn’t matter if they pass for 300 (which Ingleside did Friday, 305 yards passing by quarterback Tristan Barajas to be exact),” Kates said. “Stop the run and run the football like we did today offensively and good things will happen.” That proved to be true

State Quarterfinal Berths on the Line

Before this season the Flatonia football team hadn’t been to the playoffs since 2007 and La Grange hadn’t won a playoff
football game since 2009. But just look at them now. Both the Leps and Bulldogs have won back-to-back playoff games and play Friday in third round games – both one win away from being state quarterfinalists

Four Lady Leps on State Volleyball Program Cover

The La Grange volleyball team did not make it back to the state volleyball tournament this year, but the Lady Leps did have
a significant presence at the event last weekend in Garland. That’s because four Lady Leps were featured prominently
on the cover of the big state tournament program – in an action shot from last year.

Leps Storm Into the Sweet 16

GEORGETOWN – La Grange football fans have a lot to be thankful for. The Leps head into Thanksgiving week one of only 16 teams left in the Class 3A Division I bracket still playing football after a 50-8 dismantling of Canyon Lake in a cold and rainy 3A area round playoff game Friday. La Grange (11-0) now advances to face Ingleside (9-3), which was a 26-20 winner over Rio Grande City Grulla in their area playoff game. That Leps vs. Mustangs matchup will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Texas State University’s Bobcat Stadium.

RTC Dominates in Championship

GARLAND – With tears welling in her eyes, and a gold medal around her neck, Round Top-Carmine volleyball coach
Tanya Nygrin just had to shake her head. “I couldn’t have written a better script,” she said. And she was right. There
was something very storybooklike to the circumstances surrounding Round Top-Carmine’s state championship this year
– which was the program’s and  Nygrin’s fifth overall.

Flatonia Wins Area Football Title

The Flatonia Bulldogs are area football champions thanks to a big second half that led them to a 28-14 second round playoff victory over La Villa Friday in Taft. Canyon Lake No Pushover

La Grange head coach Matt Kates described the mood of his team this week as “confident, but not overconfident” as they  head into Friday night’s area round playoff game against Canyon Lake. The confidence is easy to understand for a Leps team that has started the season 10-0 and now faces a Canyon Lake team they already beat 48-28 back in September

Basketball Season Heating Up

It wasn’t a win – but it was a start. Facing a good Hallettsville team in their season opener Tuesday, the Lady Leps basketball team had its share of bright spots, but not enough to overcome some opening night problems in a 41-21 loss.
“Obviously we have a long way to go and a lot of things to work on,” said La Grange head coach David Cooper. “We’ve had a late start (because of volley) compared to some of our opponents.
