Leps Clinch Third Straight District Crown

Against a historic rival, the Leps made history. In the 74th consecutive regular season football meeting between La Grange and Giddings, the Leps football team beat the Buffaloes 59-36 Friday. The victory clinched the third consecutive district title for unbeaten La Grange (9-0), the first time that’s ever been done by the Lep football program

Schulenburg Wins County Battle

In a battle of Fayette County neighbors, the Schulenburg Shorthorns downed the Flatonia Bulldogs 30-21 Friday. With the win, the Shorthorns (2-6 overall, but 2-1 in district) remain very much in the playoff hunt, while the Bulldogs’ postseason hopes are probably over with the third straight district defeat, and state-ranked Refugio and Shiner remaining on the
schedule. Flatonia is 4-4 overall but 0-3 in district.

Lady Leps Sweep Past Navasota

The La Grange volleyball team had no trouble knocking off Navasota on the road Friday, beating the Lady Rattlers 25-11,
25-10, 25-10. Riley Fisbeck led the way with 14 kills. Hannah Gerecke led in assists with 17 and Kelsey Parchman had four blocks. The Lady Leps improved to 31-11 overall and 7-2 in district with the win as they head into Tuesday’s regular season  finale at home against district leading Bellville.

Weimar Edges Flatonia

The Flatonia football team suffered another big blow to its playoff hopes with a 31-24 loss to Weimar Friday. The Bulldogs, playing without injured star Marcus Mica, had a stellar game through the air (thanks to quarterback Casen Novak and receivers Matthew Kozelsky and Gus Venegas) but it was still not enough to overcome the Wildcats, who got three touchdown runs from Curry Johnson

Leopards Survive a Shoot-Out in Caldwell

CALDWELL – Great teams find a way to win even when things don’t go so great. The La Grange football team endured all sorts of self-inflicted wounds Friday (three turnovers inside their 20-yard line that all turned into Hornet touchdowns) but still prevailed 56-34.

RTC’s Dig for a Cure

RT-C volleyball had their “Dig for a Cure” volleyball game against Anderson-Shiro, Tuesday Oct. 15. RT-C varsity won in three sets. All of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards breast cancer research. The community and the school came together to help raise the money through t-shirt sales and donations.

Former La Grange High School standout Rebecca Proske had a team-high 12 digs as the Blinn College volleyball team swept
Victoria College Tuesday. The Blinn volleyball team is ranked No. 2 in the nation among junior college teams and has a 28-1 record.

Ganado Ends Flatonia’s Win Streak

The Flatonia Bulldogs built a four-game winning streak on the strength of a dominating defense. But Friday, the Ganado Indians showed they could play some great defense too. The Indians limited Flatonia to just 89 total yards in a 28-14
