Lady Leps Fall in Home Finale

The La Grange girls basketball team did its best to stay with No. 5-ranked Yoakum Friday night, even employing some  extreme stall tactics to keep things close until the fourth quarter. But eventually Yoakum pulled away to beat La Grange
31-15 in the Lady Leps home finale.

Leopards Clinch Playoff Berth

With a whopping 10 seniors on the team, Friday’s home finale was a particularly emotional one for the La Grange boys basketball team. And the Leps put on a fitting performance in what was likely those seniors’ final night in that gym, opening up a big lead in the second half and breezing to a 77-66 victory over Yoakum

Giddings Sweeps La Grange in Basketball

The La Grange boys basketball team saw its four-game district win streak halted in dramatic fashion Tuesday in Giddings.
The Leps led 49-48 with sixteen seconds to go before the Buffaloes, amazingly, made seven free-throws in those last
16 seconds, and the Buffaloes prevailed 55-49 to stay atop the district standings.

Ledwik, Walker to Sign Wednesday

La Grange football star Zach Ledwik and Schulenburg track standout Sarah Walker are both expected to ink Division-I college sports scholarship agreements Wednesday on National Signing Day. Ledwik, who is considered by many to be the best offensive tackle prospect in the entire state of Texas, is expected to sign to play football for Texas A&M

Lady Leps Can’t Complete Comeback

It was nearly a memorable comeback. But in the end, the furious rally the La Grange girls basketball team put on in the fourth quarter Friday gets chalked up as a moral victory, not a district one. Smithville held on to beat the Lady Leps 46-39, but not before La Grange rallied from a 13-point fourth quarter deficit to  twice cut the Lady Tigers’ lead to just two points.

Leopards Smash Smithville to Move Into First Place Tie in District Standings

With a couple of minutes left in Friday’s boys basketball game, a big portion of the La Grange crowd on hand started 
chanting “District Champs, District Champs.” While that district title won’t be decided for at least another couple of weeks, what the Leopards did Friday certainly gave those fans every reason to think a second consecutive district crown is a possibility.

LG Girls Win in Bastrop, Fall at Home

The La Grange girls soccer team lost to Palacios 3-2 Tuesday night at Leopard Stadium. Selena Lara and Marcy Herrera scored the goals for the Lady Leps. LEPS WIN BY 50

The swagger is quickly returning to the defending district champion La Grange boys basketball team. Just four days after beating Cuero by 44 points, the Leps turned in an even more dominating performance Tuesday at home, spanking Gonzales 80- 30.
