Leps Let Early Lead Slip Away, Fall 62-52

If the La Grange boys basketball team is going to repeat as district champs, they are going to have to play some catch-up.
Last season the Leps won their first six district games in a row and were never anywhere but atop the 26-3A standings.
But after Friday’s 62-52 home loss to Giddings in the district opener for both teams, the Leps find themselves looking
up at several teams

Basketball Roundup: Rockdale Rallies to Beat Leps

The first quarter was nearly perfect. Too bad there were three more to go. The La Grange boys basketball team looked like they delivered a knockout punch to Rockdale early Tuesday, grabbing a 22-8 lead after the first eight minutes. But the final three quarters were dominated by the Tigers, as Rockdale won 68-54.

New Year Means Start of Soccer Season at LGISD

With the start of the new year, soccer season officially kicked off at La Grange High School. The girls varsity soccer team is coached by Jessica Stamp, whose main goal for her team is to beat all 3A teams they play and also prepare them for the first 3A playoffs which will be held next year.

‘Legends’ Shine Once More

The old guys proved they can still play some ball as the La Grange “Legends” alumni team edged the Leps boys varsity basketball team 57-55 Friday in one of the closest finishes ever in this annual event. The game featured a pair of father-son matchups as Macy Scott (Class of 1988) and Wes Scott (Class of 1989) played against their sons, Ryan Scott and Wes Scott – who are both Lep seniors.

Lady Leps Rally Late To Win District Opener

One week after losing to Gonzales in the Weimar tournament, the La Grange girls basketball team got revenge – at the
most important time. The Lady Leps went on the road Friday and used a big fourth quarter surge to beat the Gonzales girls 40-33 in the district opener for both teams

Leopards Win Hallettsville Basketball Tournament

The La Grange boys basketball team stormed through the competition Dec. 27-28 at the Hallettsville Tournament, beating all four teams they played en route to the tournament title. Four Leps earned all-district honors at the conclusion of the
tournament: Wes Scott, Cassel Tezeno, Dillon Lee and Dylan Adkins.

CenTex Storm Wins Tourney The

The 18U Central Texas Storm select baseball team, which includes several Fayette County players, won the “Luling Drillers Invitational” held in Luling on Nov. 17-18. They played two games on Saturday and two games on Sunday, winning all four games.
